Everything you need to know before planning your South Africa safari.
May–September (dry winter months) is the optimal safari season — vegetation thins, animals gather at waterholes, and wildlife density around Kruger’s rivers is exceptional. July and August are the most popular months. Summers (November–February) are lush and green with excellent birding and baby animals, but vegetation is thicker.
Yes — six of our seven South Africa safaris include all transfers from the designated pick-up point. Full transfer details and collection points are confirmed at booking. The Kapama safari requires private vehicle arrangement which we coordinate for you.
The Kapama Big Five Experience is our signature honeymoon safari — ultra-luxury suites at Kapama Southern Camp, private game drives, and a level of exclusivity that is genuinely special. The Radisson Bush Retreat is also excellent for couples who prefer a more social, stylish lodge atmosphere.
All seven of our South Africa safaris operate in or adjacent to Big Five territory — Kruger National Park, Kapama, and Timbavati. Sightings of all five are never guaranteed in wildlife (we always say this honestly), but Kruger and the private reserves have the highest sighting rates in Africa. Our guides know exactly where to look.
The Panorama Route runs along the escarpment west and north of Kruger — roughly 1–2 hours from Kruger’s main gates. It’s ideally combined as part of a multi-day itinerary, which is exactly how The Panorama & Big Five Escape is structured. No backtracking, seamlessly sequenced.
