Everything you need to know before planning your Botswana safari.
Botswana is excellent year-round. May–October (dry season) is optimal for game viewing as animals concentrate at water sources — this is the most popular period and lodges book out fast. November–April (green season) brings lush landscapes, the Nxai Pan zebra migration, and excellent birding at lower prices.
Yes — the Conservation & Co-Existence helicopter experience, Tsodilo Hills excursion, and Kavango-Zambezi extension can all be added to any Botswana safari itinerary. They can also be booked as standalone day experiences from Maun or Kasane. Agent rate of 20% applies to all excursions.
FI in Botswana means: en-suite accommodation, all meals (breakfast, brunch, and dinner), all scheduled activities (2 per day — game drives, boat cruises, bush walks, mokoro trips), all local brand alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, laundry service, and all park fees and government levies.
We recommend booking 6–12 months in advance for July–October peak season — Muchenje, Mogotlho, and Nxai Pan Camp operate at strict capacity and fill very quickly. Outside peak season, 3–4 months is usually sufficient. The 10-Night Photographic Safari has a minimum of 2 people.
Absolutely — many travellers combine products. A popular combination is the 6 Nights Conservation Package followed by the Kavango-Zambezi extension for a Victoria Falls finale. The Tsodilo Hills excursion pairs perfectly with any Maun-based itinerary. We design custom multi-product journeys on request.
Light aircraft in Botswana (used for transfers between camps) allow only 12kg per person including hand luggage. Soft-sided bags are strongly required — no hard suitcases. For road-based itineraries the limit is 20kg. We provide full packing guidance to all confirmed guests.
